Three modules. One bid day. No re-keying.
designwinds handles the work between "this RFP landed in my inbox" and "we got the job." Takeoff, estimating, bid management. Everything connects because it's the same data model.
Takeoff
PDF takeoff built for mechanical sheets. Count fittings, dampers, diffusers, grilles, and VAV boxes. Measure duct runs by size, shape, and gauge with material tracking. Addenda comparison shows what moved between bid set v1 and v2 - drawings and equipment schedules both.
Read more →Estimating
Assembly-based estimating with SMACNA labor factors preloaded and every unit overridable. Pricing from Trade Service. Equipment schedule import. Prefab vs. field-install splits. Crew composition modeling. Recap and leveling sheets that reconcile to the dollar.
Read more →Bid Management
Bid calendar synced read-only with iSqFt and BuildingConnected. RFI tracking during the bid period. Subcontractor and vendor quote leveling. Bid day mode locks the estimate for the last four hours before submission. After the bid: hit rate by GC, by project type, by estimator.
Read more →What designwinds isn't.
designwinds is not a project management tool. It is not a field app. It does not replace Procore, Autodesk Build, or your accounting system. It handles preconstruction.
After bid award, we export the estimate to whatever you use today. We have a clean handoff to Procore and a one-way QuickBooks export. That's the end of our job. We're good at the front of the project - we'd rather be great at one thing than middling at six.
If you need field time tracking, equipment dispatch, or service scheduling, we are not your tool. We'd rather tell you that now than six months in.
